I've just dropped suspended my reading of Ursula Le Guin's "No Time to Spare" to pick up "The Enigma of Reason", that kind of thing always hooks me up. It's about theory that questions reason as this gift of mankind and a goal to be strived for. Also it has become my morning ritual to read a new entry on With This Ring, a story that has been consistently updated daily for about two years (but I only caught up to it about 2 months ago). It's about what happens when a guy that has thought about how shitty super hero tropes are for a considerable time wakes up with his pajamas on the moon, with a Orange Power Ring of Avarice. Like the Green Power Rings of Will from the Green Lanterns, but instead of having to focus his mind he just needs to want something. It's pretty well written considering how often it's updated, and he messes up with the status quo of comic book reality so much that the greek goddess of discord takes a like to him. What about you all?

I just recently finished Masters of Doom by David Kushner, and am currently working my way through Game Feel by Steve Swink. They're both pretty distinctively about video games. The former is a look at Johns Romero and Carmack of Id Software fame, giving a fascinating biographical look into the companies they created and affected, mostly centered around Id Software and Ion Storm. The latter is somewhat more focused on some of the intricacies of game design specifically, and while it's very good at that, I can't recommend it unless you're really interested in the topic.
Far as webcomics go... A while back Oriana turned me onto Strong Female Protagonist. I probably can't do it justice in description, but it touches on philosophy, superheroes, and what it might mean to be a "kid superhero" in the real world.
