As mentioned on reddit, there are already some partial scripts that someone posted up on reddit. Lots of ideas out there. Link. That all said, I think it might be easiest/most effective to choose at most two or three concepts for the community to work on at a time, so that we don't all get split up and go nowhere. Obviously, a new idea would be chosen upon the completion of an episode. Also, might be good to start outlining who works on what, and what we need more of. I have some experience as a volunteer community manager, and if we are to be unable to find a better presenter, I've got a half-way passable microphone setup that I could audition with.

I concur with mace - having a few ideas would probably be the best way to get people going. If you don't like one idea or don't know enough to contribute (like me and GoT), you then have the option of contributing to something else. I'm pretty much fine with any idea. If I don't know enough about it, I'll do some research to get up to speed.
Edit: For the first episode, we should probably decide on one idea that we're all interested in so we can all contribute and get used to each other (and to get a feel for a general style, structure of the videos), before we branch out into smaller groups to tackle multiple ideas at once.

That sounds like a good idea, ngnius. If it's not too early to suggest a first episode topic, the Zelda idea in the linked google doc folder has potential, I think.
My personal take on that was something like, "What does Breath of the Wild say about adaptations?", as I get the impression from what I've played of it that it's practically a video game adaptation of a video game series.

I think the Zelda topic would be a good one because we could tie back into the fact that what we're doing is essentially an adaption of Idea Channel.
Also it sounds based on the current script that we need to have a discussion about distillation versus adaption. Some references to distillation do seem like adaption, but there are certainly some cases where the change couldn't be made.

Well, either way it's definitely not set in stone right now, aside from the general topic. Speaking of topics, we should probably figure out roles... To another thread!

ok so simulatniousley to role picking, I think zelda can be our first episode if you say you've got some kind of a scrypt together. also the idea of multiple scripts\ideas being explored simoltaniousley is nice (yet should be kept in some proportion for reasonable productivity)
what if we checked out our ideas for episodes by posting them on the ideachannel subreddit and also try to generate ideas and content for the scrypt by reading the discusion in the reddit comments? you think this could work?

ok I just checked it out and this zelda thing is a almost finished scrypt!
we should start with that one definetley, let's concentrate our scripting\writing efforts on editing it and perfecting it.

Great! Do we know who wrote it? We need to credit them and get their permission to use it. Was it one of us? Edit: that script is good, I can hear Mike's voice when reading it!

I contributed a little bit to it, but someone else did most of it.
Personally I think it still needs a decent bit of work - But that's just me.

Looking through the document history, most edits are by "Anonymous User" so we'll need to reach out to see if any would like their name/pseudonym associated with it if they made edits.

We'll definitely link to the script document when we upload the finished video, so people can see all the edits (and who contributed what, provided they didn't do it anonymously). If someone edits anonymously, I would assume they don't want to take credit for what they did (I'm pretty sure everyone has a Google account they could use if they wanted credit), but we could put a note at the bottom of the document to people who want credit.

So do we start discussion on the Zelda script then? Here? Or maybe a new Google doc/reddit thread?
